Mother Nature tried its best to dampen the racing activities at Deer Creek Speedway as it prepared for the season opener of the 2012 season Saturday.

This Saturday, April 7, the thunder will return to the high banks of the Deer Creek Speedway for the first time in 2012, and if this year's practice session was any indication of what we're going to see then race fans are in for quite a show.

The Queensland family and the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn., will continue their sanctioning partnership with the United States Racing Association (USRA) for the 2012 season. This will be the tenth straight year with USRA sanctioning at the speedway.
