Mason City Motor Speedway hosted the Kevko Racing Northern Lights Modifiied Series Presented by Real Racing Wheels Sunday night. It was the second visit of the season to the Todd, Janet and Ryne Staley promoted facility. Joe Chisholm led the field to green and was out front the entire way. It was his second series win of the season.

“The track was awesome all night,” said Chisholm in Victory Lane. “Hats off to Todd. It's been an up and down weekend (running with the USMTS). I'm happy to cap it off. You got Brandon Davis and all them in it, so you know it's a pretty good night.”

Davis closed the gap late, while Chisholm worked in lapped traffic, but it was too little to late for the series points leader. He crossed the finish line in the runner up spot. Josh Angst, Parker Hale and Alex Williamson completed the balance of the top five finishers.

The 30 lap feature event ran caution free. Early in the night heat wins went to Brandon Davis and Joe Chisholm. Josh Angst topped Deatherage Opticians Time Trials with a lap at 14.956 seconds.

Mason City Motor Speedway celebrated their class champions as well Sunday. In the USRA Modified Division, the title went to Harley Dais, who is just outside of the top five in NLMS points as well.

Next up for the Kevko Racing NLMS is the North Star Nationals September 5 and 6, at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin. The series will also crown the Inaugural Champion on the final night.
