Racing under the banner of the United States Racing Association, drivers at Cresco Speedway will be competing for unmatched year-end track and national points funds as part of the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series.

Several tracks will be launching their 2006 season in the coming weeks as the chase for the national championship in four USRA-sanctioned divisions begins.

RL Promotions has joined the list of over 100 tracks and series that will be using the SpeedNet Direct Race Management software for tracking and managing their 2006 season points championships.

Scheduling conflicts have forced officials from RL Promotions to cancel the Jan. 14 banquet date for the Cresco Speedway. Sunday afternoon, January 29, will be a drivers' meeting at the Expo Center in Cresco.

Ron Luitjens of Brewster, Minn., made history in 2005 as he has been named the first national champion of the United States Racing Association. Luitjens scored nine USRA Modified main event wins en route to becoming the inaugural USRA Casey's General Stores Championship Series national champion.
