Officials from RL Promotions and the Cresco Speedway in Cresco, Iowa, have announced a tentative schedule of events for the 2009 racing season at the Howard County Fairgrounds 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval.
On the heels of wrapping up a thrilling and successful 2008 racing season, officials from the United States Racing Association (USRA) have released rules for four sanctioned divisions, effective January 1, 2009.
In what may be a first in organized racing, three of the four drivers that captured the USRA Casey's General Stores Weekly Racing Series titles in 2007 repeated the feat in 2008. Brad Waits captured his second straight USRA Modified crown, while the same can be said for Tom Schmitt (USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars) and Matt Jones (USRA Karl Chevrolet B-Mods). Jason McDaniel (USRA Hobby Stocks) won his first title after finishing second last year.

Defending O’Reilly USMTS National Champion Jason Krohn notched his fourth main event victory of the season Tuesday with an impressive wire-to-wire run at the Cresco Speedway.
