NLMS set to light up Northeast Iowa

GRAIN VALLEY, MO (JULY 30, 2025) – The USRA Northern Lights Modified Series returns to action this weekend with a back-to-back battle in Northeast Iowa. It all begins Friday, August 1 at Cresco Speedway in Cresco, IA, and continues Saturday, August 2 at Winneshiek Raceway in Decorah. Both nights will feature a full racing program highlighted by a $2,000-to-win main event for USRA Modifieds.
The 2025 championship race continues to heat up, with Brandon Davis of Hayfield, MN leading the current standings thanks to an unmatched streak of seven top-five finishes in seven starts. Davis has been consistent and dominant so far this season, but he’ll face stiff competition this weekend from drivers like Jacob Bleess, Parker Hale, Alex Williamson, and Josh Angst who are all expected to be in attendance along with many more as the second half of the season gets underway.
Friday, August 1 – Cresco Speedway
Located on the Howard County Fairgrounds, Cresco Speedway is a high-banked 4/10-mile clay oval known for side-by-side racing and fierce finishes. Hot laps begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by heat races and main events for all divisions. Along with the USRA Northern Lights Modified Series running for $2,000 to win, Friday night’s program will also feature USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, USRA Tuners, and Eco-Mods.
Saturday, August 2 – Winneshiek Raceway
The series shifts just 20 miles east on Saturday night to Winneshiek Raceway at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah, IA. The semi-banked 1/3-mile oval will host another complete show capped by the $2,000-to-win USRA Northern Lights Modified Series feature. Saturday’s card includes USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks, USRA Tuners, and Eco-Mods competing alongside the Modified headliners.
