Fountain City, WI (July 11, 2025) - A light spring like rain that settled in over the Fountain City area along the banks of the Mississippi River wouldn’t stop Bob Timm and team at the Mississippi Thunder Speedway, and they couldn’t stop Texas panhandle transplant Rodney Sanders either. Sanders, who started the race from the outside pole, survived a late race restart with Brandon Davis and Jacob Blees lined up right behind him to take home the win.

In a race that was slowed by just one caution period, Sanders had to outduel pole sitter Keith Foss over the opening three laps to cement himself at the front of the field. With Sanders starting to run away, Foss found himself battling with the No. 21 of Bleess before finally settling into third during the first half of the race. As the field stretched out around the 1/3-mile oval, eighth starting Brandon Davis had advanced to the fourth spot while looking for more.

Nearing the 10 to go mark, Davis took advantage of a log jam in lapped traffic to slip by the 95 of Foss, while Bleess had the hook set and was slowly reeling in the 20 of Sanders. Three laps later a caution flew with seven laps to go for the 24 of Dylan Goettl setting up the final dash to the finish.

On the restart Bleess chose the outside of the first double file row behind Sanders and swung wide at an attempt to build momentum for a run into turns one and two. But it was Davis who stunned the front runners with a charge off the bottom of turn two grabbing the runner-up spot from Bleess and staying within reach of Sanders into turns three and four. Davis searched around on the surface for a way by Rodney for the remaining six laps, but Sanders hung to claim the $2,000 winner’s prize.

Davis crossed second, Bleess third, Foss fourth, and Zach Brom completed the top 5. Joe Chisholm, Foss, and Lucas Schott were the three heat race winners while Joe Chisholm picked up the nights qualifying fast time award. The series is back in action at the historic Hamilton County Speedway on July 26th during the Hamilton County Fair week in Webster City, IA.
