Dairyland Showdown Finale Goes to Davis

Brandon Davis was all smiles as the night ended, Saturday at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin. Standing in Victory Lane, he thanked all of supporters and discussed his evening.
“I was really tight in the beginning and kind of wheelied up and layed over, so I just of stuck to the infield, because I knew I was gonna be junk anywhere else,” said Davis. “Last night it (the racecar) wasn't very good, so today the kitchen sink and then some got thrown at it. I'm glad it worked. It's not perfect, but its better than it was last night.”
Kaeden Blaeser jumped out and led early. Davis and Jim Chisholm went high low and split him on a mid race restart. This shuffled Blaeser back to third. At this point the race was on between a pair of the best in the USRA Modified ranks. They went door to door for several laps. Davis narrowly pulled away and worked into and around lapped traffic.
With two laps to go he pulled up on a three wide battle and Chisholm closed the gap. Davis worked between the trio. The separation he gained was enough to hold on for the VP Racing Fuels Checkers. Chisholm was the evening's runner up.
Younger brother, Joe Chisholm, qualified a little further back than the previous night. Rolling from the inside of the seventh row, Chisholm picked off cars all the way up to third at the end. He had a good battle with Blaeser, who finished in the fourth spot. Parker Hale, another talented young racer, completed the top five.
Early in the night heat race victories went Jim Chisholm, Keith Foss, Kaeden Blaeser and Cole Queensland. The Deatherage Opticians Fast Qualifier was Jim Chishom, who cut a lap at 15.628 seconds.
The Heartland Promotions staff wishes to extend a huge thank you to Bob Timm and Tyrone Lingenfelter. Their incredible hospitality, and opportunity to race on such a large stage alongside the World of Outlaws Late Models is so appreciated.
The new series has some downtime before racing next at Hamilton County Speedway and Mason City Motor Speedway in June.
